Racing Queensland has noted the outcome of a court appearance on Wednesday in which a harness driver pleaded guilty to race fixing charges.
Racing Queensland CEO Eliot Forbes acknowledged the work of the Queensland Racing Crime Squad and the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) in bringing the case to a conclusion.
“There is clearly no place for corruption in racing. The integrity of racing is critical to its continued success and support from wagering customers and participants.”
“The vast majority of people involved in harness racing in Queensland are honest, hard-working individuals driven by their passion for the sport. We are working with them to ensure the code continues to grow in popularity and has the infrastructure needed to sustain that growth.”
