About Us
A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced, innovative marketing professional to join Harness Racing Victoria (HRV). As the peak state body for harness racing we aim to drive promotional activity, integrity and commercial outcomes for the sport in Victoria. We have strong links to rural and regional communities, running over 400 race meetings per year at 28 tracks, the industry employs approximately 4000 people and contributes $422m p.a. to the Victorian economy.
The Opportunity
It’s an exciting time at HRV as we build on plans to continue the growth and transformation of our sport. Reporting to the CEO, you will have freedom to lead a team that plans, develops and implements marketing, communication and events strategies to increase brand awareness, grow market share and engagement with the sport. You will be equally comfortable developing strategies and contributing to achieving operational outcomes working with a passionate team. You will use your solid leadership skills to effectively lead your team, and apply collaborative and influencing skills to engage with a broad range of stakeholders.
About You
To meet the challenges of this role, you will ideally possess the following:

Degree qualified in marketing, business management or similarly relevant degree

Be a professional marketer with senior management experience who has raised the profile of a brand through creative mix of contemporary and traditional marketing campaigns.

Expertise to successfully implement strategic marketing plans

A genuine passion and capability to lead change

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust.

Able to maintain and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.

Strong commercial acumen, able to deliver business cases to support annual budgeting and planning

This is a full-time position based at HRV’s Flemington office although some regular travel to regional Victoria is expected. Appointment will be made in accordance with Government Senior Executive Remuneration Policy. Given the nature of the racing industry, the successful applicant may be required to work flexible hours, including weeknights and weekends.
