All Harness Racing Australia (HRA) licence holders are covered by the HRA National Risk Management Program.

The insurance is designed to provide a broad range of cover at the lowest possible cost to licence holders.

HRA licence holders and other insured persons now have the option to take out a ‘Top Up’ Individual Personal Accident insurance policy with HRA’s insurance broker, V-Insurance Group.

The purpose of the ‘Top Up’ Coverage is to give participants the option to pay over and above the standard HRA Personal Accident Coverage to increase their Loss of Income coverage.

The insurance coverage as provided in your license includes payment of 85% of your income up to a maximum of $750 per week in the event of injury in relation to harness racing activities that prevents you from working.

The ‘Top Up’ Coverage gives participants the option of increasing this coverage from a maximum of $750 a week to either $2,000, $3,500, or another amount.

Please note that this is only a summary – please refer to the Personal Accident Insurance Upgrade Income Protection Application for more information or to apply for this ‘Top Up’ Coverage.

If you have any queries, please contact Harness Racing Australia’s Finance Manager – Cameron Brown on (03) 9227 3003.
