AHRC TC02 REVIEW
Agenda Item B3

Executive Resolutions Passed  - 30th April 2001

A.    That Australian Rule 188(A)(2) be amended by substituting the figures "36.0" for the figures "35.0".

B.    That a sub-committee be forthwith appointed by the Executive to establish an ongoing consultative approach to redefine protocols, procedures and policies for all States to follow in respect of the detection of prohibited substances.

C.    That Council work with State Controlling Bodies to establish workshops to further the education of industry participants and associated professional bodies/advisors to ensure the integrity of harness racing.  This will include knowledge of feeding practices and the understanding of feed additives for the welfare of the Standardbred.

Rules Passed

So that there can be no argument or confusion as to the appropriate device to be used for the measurement of the plasma TC02 level in a horse, I, Joe Beder, Chairman Rules Sub-Committee, recommend the following amendments to the Rules:

Add Rule 191A

For the purposes of these rules the plasma total carbon dioxide level in a horse shall be measured only by an approved instrument.

Add to Dictionary

"Approved Instrument" means

The apparatus known as the Beckman ELl-ISE auto-analyser.
