Each year HRA National
Awards are made in recognition of significant achievements and
contributions of individuals to the industry. Each Award has established
criteria, and the recipients are generally announced in October.
Awards cover several groups, and these include:

Recognition is also given to
racing and breeding performances of Standardbred horses; this is
generally based on results achieved
in the season just completed, and
criteria includes reference points such as prizemoney and wins. Some Award categories
are:

- Broodmare of the Year

- Leading Pacing and
Trotting Performers
- Leading Sire(s)

Racing Australia Inc (HRA) replaced Australian Harness Racing Council Inc (AHRC)
as the organisation's name. All AHRC's formal structures, rules,
regulations, policies, processes, chronicles, records etc.,

pertain to
HRA, and any reference to Australian Harness Racing Council Inc, AHRC,
Council or The Council shall mean Harness Racing Australia Inc or HRA.
